Question 3; What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
Evaluation: Question 3:
There are many forms of media institutions that could
distribute my music magazine. These could include existing music record
companies, because it involves the artists that are being featured in the
magazine and who have been signed by famous record companies. For example, Sony
Records could put money towards printing for the magazine, because their
artists making them money are in those magazines so (in a way) it could help
promote both the artists and the record label. This is because the particular
genre of this magazine (pop) is popular among the target audience, who listen
to the artists being signed by the labels, therefore making them more popular
and well known as a label to the audience who listen to the music. Independent
record companies could also help distribute my music magazine, because it could
help make them better known by the audience which could make them more money if
the audience starts listening to their artists. This is also a form of cross
media conversion, because the artists are being promoted by both the label and
the magazine. Another form of media that could help distribute my music
magazine is the internet. Due to the advance in modern technology, more and
more people are starting to make more use of the internet for anything and
everything, especially the target audience (teenage girls), so having a website
for the magazine would help to promote the magazine around the world, because
it would be available to everybody, not just people in local shops. Also, a
website for the magazine could help promote the artists featured, because more
details about them could be included, which could interest the readers more and
attract to them to buy and read the magazine weekly. This website would be
available to the whole country and others around the world, so more and more
people would be able to see it which would help promote it worldwide. Another
form of media that could distribute my media product would be Television. For
example, MTV, because this particular music television station is also known
worldwide and represents modern pop music, which is what my music magazine
represents. This is also an example of cross media conversion, because both
forms of media would be promoting the same artists and the same genre of music
in different forms of media, which could be useful for both forms, because they
are both being promoted around the world.

Question 2; How does your media product represent particular social groups?
I wanted to use a positive role model for the young readers of the magazine, to encourage them to be respectful in society. This could also be useful for promtoing the artist, because the more people who like him, the more people will buy his music and the magazine.
I completed this question on a popplet account.

Question 1; In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media media products?
On my front cover i challeneged the use of codes and conventions, because i used a more simple structure for my magazine. Also i used a more rock based title even though it was a pop magazine
